☞What is Decision Making Style?
One's life can be planned, but will never play out as planned. It is less like a shooting game where the targets and sighting are clear, but more like a dungeon game with real time calibration of intention and paths of new characters, intricate labyrinths with never-ending forking paths. The game requires that we make decisions and take risks, deal with setbacks, process information and adapt. In exchange, we receive the gift of a stimulating life bursting with excitement, challenges, metamorphoses and growth.
Because human learns by experience much better than learning through lectures or even case studies.
Planning and decision making have tremendous impact on the trajectories of our career, family, self actualization and more complex issues in life, a classic example of Complexity Science, or Complex Adaptive Systems. Such systems are characterized by uncertainty, unpredictability, unlinearity and volatility. Examples include biological entities, groups, organizations, financial markets, climates and other capricious models that could catch anyone or any expert off guard. Yet, some people still manage to "beat" the odds and maintain superior performances. The key lies in continuous making better decisions, that is, decisions that could help decision makers reach goals faster and more effectively than any other options. Eventually, the process results in ostensibly superior performance.
